Bethany's teaching philosophy arises from her own experience that the study of the body is an ongoing process which works best when informed by persistent interest in and attention to every aspect of our lives and movement. Our movement is directly connected with what inspires our bodies and minds. Her ultimate goal is to share her love of movement with others in a way that encourages happiness, strength and optimal function.
What she is most inspired by and endeavors to impart to others is the astounding capability of the human being. When she teaches, she explores different ways we can synthesize the scientific understanding of anatomy with our personal knowledge of ourselves.
Infusing the traditional Pilates method with her experience in dance, music, yoga, functional anatomy, and ideokinesis (mental imagery training for the purpose of improving posture and function), she helps people to see how their bodies feel and function when they utilize a cohesive internal and external sense of themselves.
